SmartClient with QCubed

SmartClient with QCubed

Postby laceja » Mon Jul 26, 2010 9:37 pm

Hi, I'm a PHP developer and I'm developing an industrial services application, using QCubed (QCodo branch). I would like to know the suitability of SmartClientPHP to use as an interface between my business logic, which is organized in QCubed, and SmartClient. I really like the idea of pushing some of my application logic out to the client side to reduce the flicker factor and reduce some of the server side load. Would you please comment?

I should probably be more specific. The most complicated program I have is the order entry program, which has manages an order header, list of parts, plus 4 sortable lists of specifications, requirements, and additional services.

Thanks,

Merrill

Hello,

Although we haven't tested SCPHP with QCubed yet it should work without any issues. You just have to place it into some kind of library or include folder and instance/load classes as you need.

Let me know if you run into some kind of troubles or need any help.

Note: we are close to a release of a new version, so it might be a good idea to get code from svn since a lot of things have changed since 0.1b http://fisheye.consultorpc.com/browse/S ... cfernando/

Fernando:

QCubed is a PHP framework, which includes its own ORM. So, basically, I'm asking if SmartClientPHP is able to drive all the functionality of SmartClient, if I provide the data to SmartClientPHP? Basically, does SmartClientPHP support all the functionality of SmartClient LGPL?

Thanks.

No, not all features/functionalities of SmartClient LGPL are supported. Although the plan is to support all components, currently we have only a few of them totally supported.
